Viggle launches new fantasy sports app MyGuy

Are you ready for some football?

Viggle, the free app that allows viewers to check into their favorite TV shows, is branching out into the sports world by launching their new sports-themed app, MyGuy.

MyGuy is designed to engage viewers in a variety of sporting events by having them not only check into which game they are watching, but play along by selecting players to earn them points on each play, fantasy football-style.

“It is a fantasy app, but there’s one big difference,” Chris Stephenson, President and COO of Viggle, told The Post. “With fantasy football you have to draft the players and wait through the entire season. This is different because you can pick the player right there and then and that player is getting them points on every play. It’s a form of fantasy football but it is instantaneous. It’s fantasy sports meets instant gratification.”

MyGuy, which went through beta testing during the NBA playoffs and officially launched with the Giants-Cowboys game on Wednesday night, offers players not only the option to select players as the game is going on, but also provides leaderboards and a chat room where participants can trash talk to each other while competing for points and prizes.
